Pastor Biju Thomas

Pastor Biju and his family joined IPC Houston in 2005 as the Youth Pastor. As a Youth Pastor he provides spiritual direction and serves as a source of encouragement for young people to become mature in Christ. His vision is to develop young people as well as young adults in spiritual leadership roles so they in turn can extend God’s Kingdom in the world. Pastor Biju’s greatest passion in his ministry is "coming alongside parents as they disciple their children and strive to magnify God and the gospel through their lives.”

He has helped arrange retreats, conventions, and camps for the youth at IPC. He presents a dynamic challenge to audiences of all ages on Sundays. During the weekdays he visits families and counsel students and young adults.

While he was a teenager living in New York, Pastor Biju received Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. He felt a calling for the ministry when he was a freshman in college. He then submitted to the Lord’s call and began to feel a sense to explore the calling as a Pastor. Although he wrestled with his vocational calling, his parent’s influence encouraged him to obey God’s will.

Pastor Biju graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1996 with a degree in Engineering. He then moved to Dallas in 1997 where he worked as an Industrial Engineer for a few years. Later, he was laid off from two different companies within a span of a few months, which he felt was a clear sign from God. In the summer of 2000 he decided to attend the Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) where he received a Master of Theology (TH.M) in Bible Exposition. In God's grace-filled plan, Biju became the Youth Pastor at IPC Houston in August of 2005 after graduating from the Dallas Theological Seminary in May of 2005.

Before coming to IPC Houston, Pastor Biju attended IPC Hebron in Dallas and was an active member of the youth ministry there. He served as a worship coordinator, a youth director, and a young adult bible class instructor. As an intern, he had the opportunity for pastoral training in the youth ministry at Northplace Community Church in Dallas. He also taught a semester at DTS Center for Biblical Studies for pastors and church staff.

Biju and his wife Mercy were married, February 6, 1997. She is a committed servant to the Children's and Youth ministry, and also a gifted mentor to young female adults. Mercy is a dedicated employee, full-time mother, and wife. They have two wonderful children, Crystal, 8, and Christian, 6.  Biju enjoys traveling and playing with his children. Other interests and hobbies include reading, hanging out with the young people, eating Thai food, and playing soccer.
